The Vinegar Lane precinct in Ponsonby was conceived as a planned mixed-use subdivision of independent small lots with 100% coverage and medium density. Bossley were involved in preparing test designs for the initial Design Guidelines, Each building is required to sit within the guidelines to promote unique designs with a common set of requirements.
The design for Lot 26 at 17A Crummer Road fits into the fabric of the neighbouring buildings yet asserts a distinctive architectural presence. With four storeys of lift-served apartments over a ground floor garage and accessible commercial space, the design orients the living rooms and balconies to the Northwest courtyard and the two bedrooms to the street. Each unit has both bathroom and ensuite. At the third floor a private stairway leads to the uppermost level with generous main bedroom suite and expansive rooftop deck.
