Kainga Ora (previously Housing New Zealand) is committed to satisfying New Zealand’s housing needs by increasing density on existing sites.

With lots on 27 and 29 Maroa Road the project’s brief was to replace 2 single-family homes with 9 new one and two bedroom units in a 2-storey configuration. In a nearby separate project, 38-42 Aliford Street, was developed into eight new 3, 4 and 5 bedroom units, all two-storeys.

The designs provide unique duplexes and single family house designs. Exterior colours provide vibrancy to the street and buildings are well scaled to the neighbourhood. Parking and outdoor spaces are carefully planned to provide privacy and amenity to all tenants. Units are designed to strict Kainga Ora design standards and successfully balance cost and value.
