A time-honoured rugby club to expand to become a sports and events centre

A recent proposal for the Ponsonby Rugby Club is timely given the current call by Auckland Council for propositions for the Western Springs Stadium and Park Precinct. The club is one of the oldest and largest in Auckland and recently celebrated 150 years since inception. The time is right for expansion and to cater for others.

Flooded in the 2023 cyclones, the clubrooms have been repaired. Expansion is required so we developed the external frame to carry a new upper floor. The expanded facilities would cater for multiple sports and a variety of functions with a focus on community use.

The Function Room at the upper level would greatly enhance views of the number one playing field, as well as the speedway track and other events.
